FLYAP Celebrates 11 Seniors at Orleans Niagara BOCES

Medina – The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program (FLYAP) held a Signing Day at the Orleans Career and Technical Education Center (OCTEC) Tuesday to celebrate nearly a dozen students. The Orleans Niagara BOCES has participated in each of the FLYAP’s three years.

Eleven seniors are in the middle of their paid co-ops at eight companies throughout the Orleans-Niagara region.  All are in the Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering program at OCTEC where they are learning CNC Machining, fabrication and more.

The Orleans Niagara BOCES was one of the first schools to join FLYAP. To date, nearly 140 students have participated in job shadows and paid co-ops through the Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program.  For more on youth apprenticeships in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes regions, check out FLYAP.org.
