The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program Expands to Williamson BOCES

Williamson – The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program (FLYAP) expanded to the Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES’ Wayne Technical and Career Center (WTCC) in Williamson.  Nine students participated in the first ever Signing Day event at the Williamson BOCES.

Eight juniors and one senior were matched with six companies throughout Wayne County for job shadows and paid co-ops. Students are from the WTCC’s machining, welding and engineering programs.

FLYAP has partnered with WFL BOCES’ Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center in Stanley for the past two years.  Adding the Wayne Technical and Career Center now puts FLYAP in all BOCES schools throughout the FLYAP’s nine-county region.

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program has placed nearly 150 students at dozens of companies this year. For more on FLYAP, visit the website at FLYAP.org.
