Genesee Valley Pre-Apprenticeship Bootcamp

The Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association partnered with its Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program, Genesee Community College, the Genesee County Economic Development Council and Genesee Valley BOCES in Batavia to hold the first ever Genesee Valley Pre-Apprenticeship Program.  Five young adults participated in the six-week course which specialized in mechatronics training.  All completed the program on August 26, 2021 and three are entering the NYS Registered Apprenticeship Program with their respective companies. The program was funded by the American Apprenticeship Initiative. Participating employers include Maris Systems Design, Barilla, Oxbo Corporation, Six Flags Darien Lake and OATKA Milk Products.
