FLYAP Kicks Off 2022 Signing Days in Batavia

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program (FLYAP) kicked off the Signing Day period of the 2021-22 program year at the Genesee Valley BOCES in Batavia.  More than 30 students signed on with 7 companies throughout the region.  Twelve students have been placed in paid co-ops and 20 students will be performing job shadows. In its third year, more than 300 students and 100 businesses throughout the greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region have registered for FLYAP. More than a dozen high schools, including all career and technical education and BOCES schools in the region are participating in this year’s program.

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program is the only youth apprenticeship of its kind in New York State and is a collaboration between the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association and Monroe Community College.  FLYAP is supported by funding from RG&E and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
