FLYAP Celebrates a Dozen WFL Students

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program (FLYAP) continued the 2021-22 Signing Day period at the Wayne Finger Lakes (WFL) BOCES in Stanley.  Eleven students from the Finger Lakes Technical and Career Center (FLTCC) and one student from Canandaigua Academy have been place in paid co-ops and job shadows at seven companies throughout the region.

The FLTCC more than doubled its participation from last year and Canandaigua High School joined in this year’s program.  FLYAP is also expanding to the WFL BOCES’s other campus – Wayne Education Center in Williamson.

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program is the only youth apprenticeship of its kind in New York State and is a collaboration between the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association and Monroe Community College.  FLYAP is supported by funding from RG&E and the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
